Meet the team

Behind Volunteering and Skills Connections (VASC) are dedicated staff who are passionate about helping Great Yarmouth residents discover opportunities, build skills, and connect with their community.

Introductions

Rachel Houghton: Skills and Aspirations Officer

As the Skills and Aspirations Officer, Rachel focuses on supporting people who want to build their skills, find employment, or sustain their current work. By working closely with local organisations, she has a strong knowledge of opportunities that align with residents' ambitions and goals.

Rachel has worked in Great Yarmouth in community-facing roles for many years. She understands how challenging it can sometimes be to get involved in local opportunities, but she is committed to helping every step of the way. Her passion lies in making sure everyone feels supported, confident, and able to take the next step in their journey.

Vicky Skoyles: Volunteering, Skills and Aspirations Officer

Similarly to Rachel, Vicky supports people who are looking to build their skills and take steps into employment. In addition to this, she plays a key role in helping residents get involved in volunteering opportunities across Great Yarmouth.

Vicky works closely with local charities, community groups, and organisations to connect people with roles that match their interests and aspirations. She believes volunteering is not only a way to give back, but also a powerful route to gaining confidence, developing new skills, and opening doors to future opportunities. With her experience in both employment support and community engagement, Vicky is dedicated to making sure everyone can find a pathway that suits them, whether that's through training, work, or volunteering.
