Volunteering and Skills Connections is a Great Yarmouth Borough Council initiative helping residents discover opportunities to volunteer, achieve qualifications, and develop new skills that boost aspirations and employment prospects.

Building on Success

VASC grows from the successes of the Spirit 2012 funded Cultural Connections Volunteering project, which:

• improved life chances for young people
• removed barriers to volunteering
• celebrated local arts, heritage and culture

Over 70 organisations and charities joined CCV, creating a vibrant volunteering community. Now, VASC takes this further.

What VASC Offers

Through the UK Social Prosperity Fund, VASC expands support to include skills and employment, focusing on individuals who want to:

• retrain or upskill
• transition into or sustain employment
• improve their current work situation
• access basic skills or formal qualifications
• explore a wide range of volunteering opportunities
